United Aftermath.. Final Tour USA 11

Its been a fantastic year of touring for Hillsong United and its been a pleasure to be able to mix FOH for all the USA dates. Mid America Sound has been a great supplier and crew to enable us to do what we do – I know all the boys are very thankful for their expertise.

We have continued with the K1 system but have added the K1 subs, flying them 8 per side behind the main arrays. The design was developed by Ricki Cook and we were fortunate to have Live Sound International attend the Grand Rapids event and ask Stephen Pippett and myself a few questions. The interview is extremely thorough regarding our setup and rather than repeat, you can look at the article here.

I have never claimed to be a video editor, so apologies in advance but I have included a video below the photos with a stage walk and a few tour specifics. Sorry for the not so steady hand!

Hey Ryan, For the Aftermath tour, not too much actually. I use an Empricial Labs Fatso Jnr for drums, multiband compressors and de-essers for vocals and a tube compressor for L/R. Aside from that I use a Lexicon reverb unit and a TC 2290. Everything else is done on board the console. All that may change however, we are in preparation for the Zion tour. J

Hey Breckan, I have actually just written a post on Simons setup so feel free to check it out. As for Matt, he used a 19″ K Custom Dark Crash,Yamaha toms -16″ and 18″ and a DW edge series snare.

Just wondering what cymbols Simon uses as well as Matt on his percussion set up. Looked like K dark crash + A custom for HH and a K ride for the “middle//over kick” cymbal. Couldn’t really pick out the other two K cymbals or the one on Matt’s side set. Any help would be sweet. Good job by the way on everything you do. Love checking in on all the news.
