This year (’12) I was invited to California for a preview of the new Meyer Sound line array system, Leo. The system was set up in full format complete with the new sub woofer, the 1100 LFC and driven by the Galileo Callisto loudspeaker management system. Luke Jenks personally took me through the system, components and overall vision. I enjoyed how honest the Meyer staff were when it came to the product and how confident they were in what the product could do.
At a first look, the system is visually impressive, its hard not to get excited about a sub woofer configuration that is the size of the 1100LFC. The Mica cabinets at the bottom of the array joined the overall streamline of the Leo cabinets.
I enjoyed a full demonstration and true to their word the product performs exactly as they have described. As you would expect, the linearity of the product is a major stand out feature, as is the throw of the boxes. There is no doubt that this is a system that participates in the ‘big players’ in the line array systems today.
Thanks to Lee Moro for the opportunity and for sending the pics of the array with flown subs from a recent festival.
